The 166th New Oaks Stakes took place over the mile and a half Suffolk Stakes course at Newmarket on Friday 16th June 1944 and was won by Hycilla (8/1), by Hyperion out of Priscilla Carter trained by Cecil Boyd-Rochfort, who won by 1 1/2 lengths in 2 mins 30.60 secs. The winner won £3,483 (Equivalent to £146,000 in 2017) and there were 16 runners.
